The HydroLogic Permeable Pavers by RCP Block & Brick are an integral part of a larger permeable paver system. HydroLogic Permeable Pavers are highly attractive, durable, easily repaired, require low maintenance, and can withstand heavy vehicle loads; therefore making these pavers an ideal choice for both residential and commercial applications.
The HydroLogic Permeable Paver is available in both the Stonetop texture as well as the Piatto (Flat Top) Texture. The spacing between these pavers provides a 5/16" gap with results in a 5%-15% drainage between the pavers for easy flow of water into the permeable paver system. HydroLogic permeable pavers will meet BMP Storm Water, LID, and ADA requirements. They are manufactured to meet ASTM C936 specifications.
The simplified explanation of what a permeable system is designed to do is to eliminate runoff and allow rain water it to penetrate into the ground at a specific site. This is accomplished through the combination of permeable pavers, joint material, an underlying reservoir, and other possible aspects. The diagram to the right is to show one type of permeable system and the pieces involved.
Each permeable paver system will be engineered to be site specifications and therefore there is no one designed system that will work for all applications. Such factors as estimated rainfall, existing soil conditions, and amount of permeability required will all factor in to the design and engineering of the permeable paver system.
